Joshua Dean Stieben, age 18, died Sunday, December 27, 2009 in rural Ness County. He was born October 16, 1991 in Hays, Kansas. He is the son of Rudy and Rhonda Stieben Rolo.
First and foremost Josh was a cowboy. He was a student at Western Plains High School class of 2010, STUCO rep., football team for four years, Future Farmers of America, Ransom; St. Paul Congregational Church, Bazine, the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 152, and the American Quarter Horse Association.
He is survived by his parents, Rhonda and Rudy Rolo; brother, James Benton Rolo; sister, Mary Elizabeth Rolo all of Bazine; his grandparents, Larry and Connie Stieben, Bazine and Donna Rolo, Ness City; his great grandmother, Evelyn (Erb) Parkhurst, Bazine; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Wilbur Benton Rolo.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 31, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at the Western Plains South gymnasium, Bazine. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm with the family present from 6-8 pm. Burial in the Bazine Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Josh Stieben Memorial Scholarship fund.
