Obituary

Schuckman-Simpson, Judy J. Stecklein, 75, died February 15, 2011. She was born August 18, 1935 in Dighton, Kansas. Judy was a mother (always first), farmer (she was tough) and bookkeeper (typically accurate). She worked at J&S Scale Company and Underground Storage. Judy graduated from Dighton High School and Brown Mackey College. She had a passion for dancing, country music and all variety of arts and crafts. For seven long years she fought Alzheimer's disease but never forgot how to smile. She was a volunteer with numerous organizations including Good Samaritan Senior Center. Dedicated and loyal to her family, she is survived by her children, Perry L. Schuckman, Timothy G. Schuckman and Belinda Fellows; grandchildren, Heather A. Brannan (Max), Ryan Fellows and Megan Fellows; great-grandson Christian 'Artie' Brannan; brothers Terry Stecklein (Arlene) and Thomas Stecklein; step-mother Angela Freiss. She is preceded in death by her father Isodore Stecklein and Pauline Gable Stecklein, brother Virgil Stecklein, her son-in-law Dennis Fellows and two sons Mitchell and Geoffrey (both still-born). A memorial mass is scheduled for 10:30 AM on March 5 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ness City, KS. Family invites all to join them for lunch and a special memorial tribute to Judy following the service at Sacred Heart Elementary School. Donations in lieu of flowers are requested to either Alzheimer's Association, 347 So. Laura St., Wichita, KS 67211, or AgapeCare Cradle (an infant loss support program), P.O. Box 704, Wichita, KS 67201. Mom, you may not have always remembered but we never forgot.
