Karen Mae Schadel's Obituary
Karen Mae Schadel, age 75, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. She was born on May 21, 1937 in Ness County, Kansas the daughter of David and Ella Feck Schwartz.
She was the Executive Director of Kansas Association of School Business Officials and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the United Methodist Church both of Burdett.
On June 12, 1955 she married Raymond Dean Schadel in Bazine, Kansas. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son Edgar and his wife Carolyn Schadel, Alexander and three daughters, Cheryl Schaben, Ness City, Debra and her husband Wade Selfridge, Hanston, and Ramona and her husband Jeff Johnson, Utica; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and her brother, Vernon Schwartz.
Funeral service will be on Friday, November 9, 2012, 10:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church, Burdett with burial in the Crandall Cemetery, Bazine. Viewing will be on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 with family visitaion from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Memorial contributions may be given to the Burdett American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion. Words of support and sympathy may be sent to by clicking on the link above
