Kenneth George Bittel, age 81, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in his home, Ness City. He was born on April 1, 1929 in Ellis, Kansas the son of Paul and Ida Koerner Bittel. He was a City Manager for the cities of Abilene, Great Bend, Ellinwood, and Pratt.

He is survived by two sons: Michael, Cummings, Georgia and Donald, Palm City, Florida; two daughters: Kathy Esfield, Great Bend, Kansas and Mary Sue Mistler, Fairfield, Florida; 5 grandchildren and 1 Great grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Isabel Colahan.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ness County Hospital Physical Therapy Department in appreciation for their outstanding care.
