LeVane Rohr, 92, passed away January 18, 2020 at his home in Diversicare in Larned.
Born on July 6, 1927 in Bison, KS, the son of Wendelen and Margaret Rohr.
On May 30, 1949 he married LuVera Stoecklein in Ness City. He was a farmer until he got a job for Western Power Co in Ness City. He was promoted to District Supervisor and transferred to Great Bend.
In Ness City, he coached girls summer softball and was a boy scout leader. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was a great banjo player. He played with the Munsch and Rohr band for several years doing weekly dances. He also entertained in the nursing homes around Great Bend for many years.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandy and Leigh of Colorado Springs, Co and Mary of Los Angeles, CA; two sons, Neil (Gloria) of Morgan Hills, CA and Keith of Los Angeles, CA; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin of Hutchinson; two sisters, Ida Gassman of Dighton, and Vera Schmidt of Larned; four brothers-in-law, Jim Stoecklein (Venita) of Hutchinson, Don Stoecklein (Beth) of Spring Hill, KS and Marty (Judy) Stoecklein of Grand Junction, CO, Al Werth of Hutchinson, KS; four sisters-in-law, Sr. Darlene Stoecklein of El Paso, TX, Mary Ann Pavlu of Ness City, KS, Betty Gassman (Sam) of Manhattan, KS, and Donna Werth (Paul) of Great Bend, KS.
He was preceded in death by his wife, LuVera, his son Mark, his sisters Martina Holmes of Ness City and Esther Herrman of LaCrosse.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 25, at the Sacred Heart Church in Ness City, burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rosary and Parish Vigil will be held at 6:30 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City on Friday, January 24. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund.
Condolences may be sent to the family by signing the guestbook.
