Lorinda Frank, age 85, passed away August 29, 2011 at her home in Bazine. She was born June 9, 1926 at Morland, Kansas the daughter of Joseph and Barbara Billinger Pfeifer.
At the age of five years her mother passed away and she was raised by her aunt Katie Billinger Pfeifer. Lorinda came to Ness County with her parents in 1929. She was a 1944 graduate of Ness City High School and worked at various business places for many years: Rock Island Lumber, A.S.C office in Ness City, Bazine Co-op, Humburg Lumber Co., and she retired as an American Family Insurance agent of twenty years.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and Altar Society, Ness City and a lifetime member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary. She was also a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, flowers and cooking. She enjoyed attending auctions, collecting and restoring antiques. She spent may hours on genealogy.
On October 10, 1947 she married Samuel Frank at Bazine. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1999.
She is survived by one son, James Frank, Hays, Kansas; daughter Kathleen Smith and her husband Poncho, Hutchinson; six grandchildren: Julie Stein (Chad), Jennifer English (Todd), Blake Seib (Crystal), Cassandra Seib, Jay Frank, and Grant McCormick; and five great grandchildren: Delani and Alexa English, Asher English, Brooks Seib, and Samuel Stein.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and an infant son Timothy J., her aunt Katie Pfeifer, brother, Marvin J. Pfeifer, and sister, Helen Siebenlist, many uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral service will be Thursday, September 1, 2011, 11:00 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Church with Father Henry Hildebrandt presiding. Rosary will be Wednesday, 7:00 P.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Friends may call on Tuesday 1:00 – 9:00 P.M. and Wednesday 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
