Marjorie Mae Walker, age 97, passed away at Rhode Island Suites Long Term Care, Ransom, Kansas on January 3, 2014.

She was born January 13, 1916 in McAllaster, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur and Viola Newell Luther.

She was a long time employee at Utica community cafe, where she worked until she was 85. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Utica. She enjoyed celebrating her birthdays in the later part of her life, always including a huge family gathering.

On August 29, 1934 she married Charles Walker in Goodland, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1965.

She is survived by her sons Rex (Maxine) Walker, Enid, OK, Carroll (Mona) Walker, Eads, CO, Dennis (Duanna) Walker, Utica, KS; daughters Minnie (Myron) Popp, Utica, KS, Carolyn Venters, Pratt, KS; brother Lyle Luther, Effingham, IL; sister Rosalie Cheney, Utica, KS; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Charles "Shorty"; brother Lloyd Luther; and sister Louise McCartee.

Viewing will be Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 10 A.M. - 9 P.M. and Monday, January 6, 9 A.M. – 9 P.M., at Fitzgerald Funeral Home. Family will greet friends Monday from 6 – 8 P.M.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 7, 2014, 10:30 A.M. at the First Christian Church, Utica, Kansas.

Burial at the Utica Cemetery.
