Mark Wayne Kerr, 71, was born to Wayne and Elvira Kerr on November 2, 1954, in Larned, Kansas. He passed away May 8, 2026, at Cedar Village, Ness City, Kansas.
On March 25, 1974, he married the love of his life, Renee Hofmeier. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and farming. Mark was a dedicated farmer and stockman whose work ethic and love for the land were evident to all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Renee; his four children: Jenny (Eric) Hargett of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Greg (Jessica) Kerr of Hays, Kansas; Beth (Chris) Parker of Mulvane, Kansas; and Brent (Jean) Kerr of Ness City, Kansas. He was a proud grandfather to Gwen, Anya, Eli, Ila, Kate, Maddie, Janaté, Peityn, Carver, and Spencer and great grandfather to Emree, who brought him immense joy.
Mark attended Ness City High School and Hutchinson Community College. He was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church in Ness City. Throughout his life, he gave generously of his time and leadership, serving on the Conservation Board, School Board, as Center Township Clerk, and on the Ness County Healthcare Foundation Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Elvira Kerr, and his sister, Gloria Keenan.
Parish Vigil will be held Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.at Fitzgerald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, with burial following in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Viewing will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday before the service.
Memorials may be given to the Ness County Bank Building Foundation, Sacred Heart Church, or the Ness County Healthcare Foundation.
