Martha Stegman, age 88, passed away at Rhode Island Suites, Ransom, Kansas on June 26, 2012. She was born on February 29, 1924 in Trego County, Kansas the daughter of John and Bertha Bender Eichman.
She was a homemaker and a certified nurses assistant. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
On March 27, 1945 she married Philip Stegman in Great Bend, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1980.
She is survived by son Rocky Stegman, Fishers, Indiana; daughter, Jnell Dinges, Shawnee, Kansas, three brothers, Paul, Herman, and Thel Eichman; two sisters, Leah Meyers, and Elma Helwig; six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sons, Philip Leon and KirbyLynn, grandson, Matthew Hill; two brothers, Wilhelm and Raymond Eichman, and six sisters, Elsie Kerkseik, Bertha Yanda, Freda Colborg, Rosie Snodgrass, Clara Halbleib, and Wanda Stramel.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012, 10:00 A.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will be held in the Vansburgh Cemetery, Brownell, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be given to the VFW, Ransom, Kansas.
