Obituary

Donald Max Sheldon, 79, passed away on November 29, 2021 at the Ness County Hospital in Ness City, Kansas. He was born on August 5, 1942 in rural Ness City, Kansas the son of Jack and Helen (Talbert) Sheldon.

Max was a pipeline gauger. After high school he joined the United States Navy. He worked for Clear Creek and NCRA Oil Transportation for many years until retirement. He married Phyllis Riepe on March 28, 1981, in Ransom, Kansas. She passed away on September 3, 2020.

Survivors include son, Mike Sheldon and wife, Leslie of Murray, Utah; stepdaughter, Jo Ann Hashenberger and husband, Brian of Natoma, their three children, Danny Ellis and wife, Cambria (Eickoff) of Natoma, Tera Hashenberger of Natoma, and Justin Hashenberger of Ness City; stepdaughter Dee Bauer and husband, Brady of Ness City, their four children, Josh Crombie and wife Lauren (Pfannenstiel), Brittany Bauer, Dalton Bauer and wife, Madison (Wallgren), and William Bauer all of Ness City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Helen Sheldon, stepfather, Bill Eckles, wife, Phyllis Sheldon, and son, Jason Sheldon.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, December 4, 2021, 10:30 A.M., at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, Kansas. Burial in the Ness City Cemetery. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
