Obituary

Melanie Ann Bernbeck was born February 25, 1957 in Washington Courthouse, Ohio to Georgann and Harold Wagner. She grew up in Kansas and went to the Pratt School system where she graduated in 1975, and then graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1979.

Melanie was a schoolteacher at Utica, Hoisington, and Ness City. She substituted at other schools in the area. She married Berthold Bernbeck on June 7, 1986, and they made their home in Utica. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she was a Life Deaconess and enjoyed serving her church and her God and Savior. She was a member of the CWF, RNC, and the NRA. Melanie enjoyed her computer and talking to her mother. Her favorite color was purple. She loved her dogs that they had over the years very much.

Melanie was preceded in death by her father, Harold Wagner. She is survived by her husband of the home in Utica for almost 34 years. She is also survived by her mother, Georgann Karwacki , and her husband, Joe of Florida; her sisters Doreen Wagner and her husband, Mark of Ohio, and Mary Bundy and her husband, Jason of Missouri; her adopted father and mother, John and Judy Link of Pratt; her son, Dion Bernbeck and his wife, Amanda; granddaughters, Dakota and Jessi; grandsons, Jaxon and Aceyn all of Grainfield; and her black lab, Remi.

Funeral service and burial will be on Thursday, April 23, 2020, at 10:30 A. M., at the Utica Cemetery, Utica.

Memorial contributions may be given to the First Christian Church.
