Melvin Albert Beltz, age 94, passed away at his home in rural Bazine, Kansas on June 2, 2011. He was born on November 20, 1916 in rural Bazine, Kansas the son of William and Hermina Mauth Beltz. He was a farmer and a lifetime resident of Ness County. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Bazine, the Bazine Golden Years, the Bazine Fire Department, the Highpoint Township Board, and the Ness County Area Council on Aging.
He was also a proud U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his sister, Myrna Brown, Beaufort, South Carolina and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leonard Beltz; sisters, Velma Bryan and Meta Heinz; and two nephews.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 8, 2011, 2:00 P.M. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Bazine. Friends may call at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Monday from 1 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Burial in Crandall Union Cemetery with military graveside rites by Bazine American Legion Olin Cole Post 392. Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, The Lutheran Hour, or the Bazine Golden Years.
