Obituary

Nathan Jay Slagle, 36, Brock, NE, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 9, 2013.

Nathan was born Feb. 8, 1977 in Ness City, KS and lived in Ness City until he left home for college and his professional career. He was a loving husband to Melissa (Sandfort) Slagle and a devoted father to Braden and Harper. His family was his most cherished and heartfelt accomplishment. He sought direction from the Lord and was a member of the Brock United Methodist Church. Nathan was a master Electrician and Home Builder, loved spending time with his friends and family, and enjoyed restoring classic cars.

He is survived by his wife Melissa and children Braden and Harper of Brock, NE; mother and father Brad and Barbie Slagle of Beeler, KS; paternal grandmother Gertrude Slagle of Pratt, KS; brother Eric Slagle of Lone Tree, CO; 2 nephews, Devon and Conner Slagle; 3 nieces, Hailey and Audrey Sandfort and Julia Slagle; father- and mother-in-law Ross and Linda Sandfort of Nebraska City, NE; brother- and sister-in-law Michael and Tonya Sandfort of Brock, NE; grandparents-in-law Robert and Lenore Sandfort of Brock, NE; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Floyd Slagle, Patsy Josephson, and Dean Josephson.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 13, 11:00 a.m. at the Brock United Methodist Church in Brock. Family will greet friends at the church Monday 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Graveside committal services and burial will be Wednesday, May 15, 10:30 a.m. at the Buda Cemetery near Beeler, KS.

Contributions in memory of Nathan may be made to the University of Nebraska Medical Center Ear, Nose, and Throat Center, 42nd and Emile, Omaha, NE 68198.
