"Jake" Roths

Norbert J. "Jake" Roths, 91, passed away on December 31, 2019 at the Grisell Memorial Hospital in Ransom, Kansas. He was born on November 25, 1928 in Ransom the son of Nick and Anna (Albers) Roths.
Jake was a farmer stockman. He was a member of St. Aloysius Church and the Knights of Columbus where he was a past Grand Knight 3 rd Degree. He married Joan Marie Hilmes on June 13, 1950, in Ransom. She died on November 10, 2017.
Survivors include: a son, Alan Roths and his wife, Cindy of Ransom; three daughters, Mary Ann Davis and her husband, Les of Scott City, Carol Walker of Ransom, and Diane Reddig and her husband, Dave of Manhattan; a daughter-in-law, Chris Chaney of Arnold; a sister, Irene Hazen of Grinnell; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons, Steven and Tom Roths; a son-in-law, Jim Walker; and a great-grandson, Jacoby Cool.
Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, January 4, 2020, 10:30 a.m. at the St. Aloysius Church, Ransom followed by burial in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Ransom. Parish Vigil will be at the church on Friday, January 3, at 6:30 p.m. Viewing will be at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 12:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Aloysius Church or Family Choice.
Words of sympathy and support may be left for the family by writing in the guest book.
