Otto A. Debes, age 101, died January 18, 2012 in Ness City, Kansas. Otto was born April 14, 1910 in Odin, Kansas to Alois and Hedwig Debes, one of 13 siblings.

On May 30, 1933, he married Susan A. Lang. Otto was a life-long farmer in Ness County. He was also a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Church and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.

Otto was preceded in death by six brothers, six sisters, his son Aldon, and infant daughter Dianna, as well as his wife of nearly 70 years, Sue.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna Brookhart, three grandchildren Kim Curtis (Steve), Dan Brookhart (Brenda), Steve Brookhart (Julie) and six greatgrandchilden: MacKenzie Curtis, Chase Curtis, Alison Brookhart, Logan Brookhart, Rachel Brookhart and Riley Brookhart. All of Otto's surviving family live in the Kansas City area.

Viewing will be on Friday, from 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and at the church from 6:00 PM until service time. Rosary will be at the church on Friday at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 21st, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Ness City, with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ness County Bank Building Foundation.
