Pauline Neill, age 97, passed away at Cedar Village Nursing Home, Ness City on August 14, 2015. She was born on September 28, 1917 in rural Ness County She is the daughter of Robert Byron Kerr and Zilpha Jones Kerr.
She was a teacher at Monteno, Riverside, Plum Creek, Hackberry and other rural schools. She was a homemaker and farmers wife and very active in the Ness City United Methodist Church and township election boards, she was a 4-H leader and a member of the Tri-Circle Janes. Pauline lived a life of serving others.
On May 29, 1939 she married Vernon Jones Neill. Together they lived in Florida, Mississippi, and Kentucky before moving back to the family farm in 1949. He proceeded her in death on October 1, 2005.
She is survived by her four daughters, Margaret Susan Maulin (Robert) of College Station, Texas, Sally Jo Murphy of Ness City, Sharon Elizabeth Rupp (Steve) of Garden City, and Catherine Louise Hull (Ron) of Elberta, AL; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her sister Marybel Stokes.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 18, 2015, 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church, Ness City with burial in the Ness City Cemetery. Viewing will be at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Sunday and Monday from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family present on Monday from 6-8 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be given to the United Methodist Church, Ness City and the Ness City Public Library, Ness City.
