Phyllis Jean Sheldon, 75, passed away on September 3, 2020 at the Cedar Village Care Center in Ness City, Kansas. She was born on December 7, 1944 in Dighton, Kansas to Harold and Jennie (Stiawalt) Riepe.
Phyllis attend cosmetology school in Hutchinson after graduating from Ness City High School in 1963. She worked as a hair stylist in Ransom and Ness City for 40 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Frank Stull Post #152 American Legion Auxiliary, both of Ness City. She married Jerry Leikam on January 18, 1964. Together they raised two daughters. She later married Max Sheldon on March 28th, 1981, in Ransom, Kansas.
Survivors include husband, Max Sheldon of Ness City; stepson, Mike Sheldon and wife Leslie of Murray, Utah; daughter Jo Ann Hashenberger, husband Brian Hashenberger of Natoma, their three children Danny Ellis and wife Cambria (Eickhoff) of Natoma, Tera Hashenberger of Natoma, and Justin Hashenberger of Ness City, Kansas; daughter Dee Bauer, husband Brady Bauer of Ness City, their four children Josh Crombie and wife Lauren (Pfannenstiel) of Ness City, Brittany Bauer of Ness City, Dalton Bauer, and wife Madison (Wallgren), of Ness City, William Bauer of Ness City, and sister-in-law LaVone Hoss of Ness City. Phyllis was loved very much by her five great grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; brother Cecil Richards; sister Donna Dee Riepe; and sister Darlene Butts.
Memorial service will be on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Burial in the Ness City Cemetery. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8th, 2020.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Frank Stull Post No. 152 American Legion Auxiliary.
Memories and words of support may be left for the family by writing in the guestbook.
