Raymond Richard Lamoree. age 87, died Nov. 18, at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City, Born Feb. 18, 1922 at Gorham, Kansas to Levi and Laura Sanders Lamoree.
He graduated from Beeler High School in 1940. He joined the Army in 1942, serving in Europe during World War II, receiving the Silver Service Star. He received his discharge from the Army on Dec. 23, 1945. He returned to Beeler to start farming. On Sept. 12, 1943, he married his, high School sweetheart, Veta Thompson. She died May 6, 2005.
He was a farmer and stockman and lived in the Beeler Community since the age of 5. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Beeler.
Survivors include: 3 daughters, Linda Shomo, Clovis, New Mexico, Gayla Michaelis, Ness City,and Gwenda Philbrook, Salina; son, Gary Lamoree, Beeler; brother, Ralph Lamoree, Granada Hills, California; sisters, Ruth Wells, Garden, Kansas, Loretta Schadel, Kyle, Texas,and Dorthea Robinson, Valley Center, Kansas; 6 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 3 sisters, a brother, and one son-in-law.
Funeral service were Sat., Nov. 21, 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church, Beeler, with Rev. Warren Hett, presiding. Military graveside rites by the Frank Stull Post, No. 152, of the American Legion, Ness City. Burial in the Beeler Cemetery. Viewing at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, Fri. Nov. 20, from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M.
