Obituary

Richard Reinhardt Stenzel, age 83, passed away on July 28, 2014 at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City, Kansas. Dick was born on August 7, 1930 in Hays, Kansas the son of Victor and Olinda Reinhardt Stenzel.

He was a farmer and stockman and he loved to hunt. He started one of the first trap shooting clubs in the area. He as a member of the United Methodist Church, Ness City, the American Agriculture Movement, and Pheasants Forever. He was a former member of the Cedar Bluff Lake Association, Walnut Creek Basin Association, and the Ness County Hospital Board. He enjoyed bowling, and participated in many of his children's activities including coaching softball and leading Boy Scouts.

On July 28, 1951 he married Joanne Borger in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She survives. Other survivors include his son, Mark Stenzel and his wife Dana of Bazine; his daughter Susan Kuehn and her husband Larry of Bazine; two brothers, Vernon and Ralph Stenzel, both of Ness City; four grandchildren, Aaron (Rachel) Kuehn, David Kuehn, Kelly and Paige Stenzel; and two great grandchildren, Jordan and Avery Kuehn. He was preceded in death by two sons, William Victor and Michael Jay Stenzel.

Funeral service will be on Friday, August 1, 2014, 10:30 A.M. at the United Methodist Church, Ness City. Burial in the Ness City Cemetery.

Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to the United Methodist Church, Ness City or Ness City Boy Scout Troop 131.
