Richard Lynn Werth, 77, passed away on October 3, 2021 at Hospice House in Hutchinson, Kansas.  He was born on January 7, 1944 in Ransom, Kansas the son of Constantine "CG" and Celeste (Jacobs) Werth.

He was the Owner and President of Werth Oil Co., Inc. He attended Fort Hays State University, was a member of Sacred Heart Church and had served as a councilman for the City of Ness City for a number of years. On Saturday, June 3, 1978 he married Sharon K. Schneidewind Gabel, in Ness City, Kansas.  She preceded him in death on May 4, 2008.

Survivors include his son, Darren Werth and his wife, Kerri, of Hutchinson, Kansas; sister, Connette Eckels and her husband Bill of Junction City, Kansas; two grandchildren, Ashley and Kyle Werth and nephew, Zachary wife, Jessica Eckels.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Rosary followed by the Parish Vigil will be on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 beginning at 6:30 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Funeral service will be on Thursday, October 7, 2021, 10:00 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City.  Burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ness City, Kansas.  Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Sacred Heart Cemetery or Hospice and Home Care of Reno County.
