Robert Wayne Scott, age 103, passed away at Rhode Island Suites, Ransom, Kansas on Tuesday, July 3, 2012. He was born on August 3, 1908 in Ransom the son of Charles and Bertha Goodvin Scott.

He was a barber in Rosel, Ness City, and Arnold for many years, a farmer and an insurance salesman and an Elder and Bible teacher in the Church of Christ, Ransom. Robert and Jesse were very active in 4-H for many,many years. He was a former Ransom school board member and Soil Conservation Service board member. Robert was actively involved in conserving the soil and protecting the land. He loved music and singing especially quartets.

On November 1, 1933 he married Jesse Ann Petty in Ransom. She preceded him in death on October 13, 2007. He is survived by his two sons, Bill D. (Mary), Ransom and Bob G. (Patsy), Wichita; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester, a grandson, Borden Todd Scot, and a great-grandson, Kyle James Scott.

Funeral services will be on Friday, July 6, 2012, 10:30 A.M. at the Church of Christ, Ransom. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City on Thursday from 1 PM until 9 PM and at the church Friday from 9 AM until service time. Burial in the Ransom Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Zambia Mission c/o Roy Merrit or the Rhode Island Suites.
