Ronald Blaine Gabel, 64, passed away on November 7, 2022 at the Ness County Hospital in Ness City, Kansas.  He was born on June 30, 1958 in Ness City, Kansas the son of Milton "Stubby" and Reita (Bessel) Gabel.

Ronnie was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City. He was an oil hand having worked for several oil companies over the years.  Ronnie managed the Arnold Grain Elevator for Right Coop and he worked for KDOT for five years before retiring.  He married Marcia Gullion on November 3rd, 1984, in Ness City, Kansas. Ronnie was an avid Chiefs fan and loved sports, hunting, and most of all being Poppy to all his grandchildren.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Marcia Gabel; two sons, Blaine Gabel and his wife, Kim, of Hays, Ben Gabel and his wife, Tatum of Goodland; daughter, Veronica Jeffery and her husband, Brady, of Scott City; three brothers, Gary Gabel (Rhonda), Kansas City, Kelly Gabel (Monica), Hays, and Tim Gabel, Ness City; two sisters, Debbie Overrocker, Garden City and Sharon Castor (Norm), Ness City; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Donnie and Terry Gabel and two sisters, Theresa Gabel and Brenda Zeller.

Funeral service will be on Friday, November 11, 2022, 10:00 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City  Burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Wake will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a Rosary followed by the Vigil at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. The family requests that friends remember Ronnie by dressing in something that reminds them of Ronnie, whether it be Chiefs, KU, or hunting clothing.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Sacred Heart Church.
