Obituary

Rose Gumescheimer, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at her home in the Rush County Nursing Home, LaCrosse, Kansas. She was born on April 2, 1917 in Hastings, Nebraska the daughter of Jacob and Eva K. Brunz Bruntz.

She was a homemaker, a member of St. Paul's Congregational Church, Bazine, and the Jolly '17ers. On November 9, 1943 she married Rueben Gumescheimer in Bazine. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1991.

She is survived by three children: James Gumescheimer, Cimarron, Kansas, Lois (Kirk) Miller, LaCrosse, Kansas, Marvia (Fred) Miller, Colby, Kansas; three brothers: Sam (Esther) Bruntz, Bazine, Ruben (Betty Rae) Bruntz, Springtown, Tx, and John (Eileen) Bruntz, Bazine; two sisters, Viola Daubert, Otis, Kansas, Dorothy (Harold) Schoenhals, Perryton, Tx., one step-sister, Dorothy Almquist, LaCrosse, four grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ed Bruntz, Daughter-In Law, Emiko Gumescheimer and granddaughter, Kristin Rathbun.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 17, 2012, 2:00 PM at St. Paul's Congregational Church, Bazine. Burial in the Bazine Cemetery. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul's Congregational Church and the Rush County Nursing Home. The family requests no flowers.
