Roxie Ann Truella Thornburg, 83, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, at Wellsprings of Westmoreland, Kansas.

Born on August 11, 1941, in Ransom, Kansas, Roxie was the daughter of Harlan and Geraldine (Johnson) McNinch. She grew up on the family farm north of Arnold and graduated from Arnold High School. Following her education at business school, she built a long career as a clerk and typist, later retiring as a medical transcriptionist.

Roxie was deeply involved in her community and faith. She was a dedicated member of the Arnold Methodist Church, O.E.S. Wichita Chapter 483, Dodge City Chapter 97, and Daughters of the Nile Temple 65.

Roxie was the proud mother of four children with her first husband, Robert Fore. On October 26, 2002, she married Roy Thornburg, who preceded her in death on June 7, 2023.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Rachelle Stults of Wichita; two sons, Randall Fore of Florida, and Ryan (Crystal) Fore of Junction City; her brother, Harlan McNinch of Wamego; seven grandchildren—Aric and Audrey Stults, Jace, Brittany, and Hannah Fore, Ethan Bryan, and Jillian Beckham; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; her son, Russell Fore; and two brothers, James and George McNinch.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Arnold Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the Arnold Cemetery. A viewing will take place at Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City on Friday, May 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arnold Methodist Church or O.E.S. Dodge City Chapter 97.
