Ruth Graf, 92, died Tuesday, April 12, at Rose Medical Center, Denver, Colorado. She was born January 30, 1919 in Bazine, Kansas the daughter of John and Eva (Brill) Stieben and was the youngest daughter of 14 children. She married Peter Graf on February 21, 1939 at Bazine and lived most of her life in Ness City, Kansas. She lived the last five years in Denver, CO where her surviving son, Galen, lives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; son, Joel; parents, six brothers and seven sisters.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the Altar Society, Ness City. Ruth was employed in various occupations during her life, including working at the Sacred Heart School Cafeteria and Sacred Heart Church, and employment in the Senior Companion Program of the National Senior Service Corps.
Survivors include a son: Galen, Denver, CO; grandsons: Dustin Graf, Scottsdale, Arizona and Douglas Graf, Phoenix, AZ; foster sons: Terry Stieben, Great Bend, and Kenneth Stiebben, Council Grove; nieces: Eileen Bruntz, Bazine, Betty Huber, Brownell, Evelynn Frick, Nekoma, Edra Flynn, Derby and nephew, Franklin Slagle, Bazine.
Funeral services will be held at the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City on Monday, April 18, 11:00 AM with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rosary will be at the funeral home Sunday at 7:00 pm.
