Ruth M. Pugh's Obituary
Ruth M. Pugh age 87, died Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City. She was born on Nov. 28, 1922 on the farm near the Pawnee River in Ness County, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Edna Seuser Jedlicka.
Ruth attended Fairplay country school where she graduated from eighth grade. She then went on to graduate from Ness City High School in 1941. In 1961 Ruth graduated from Fort Hays State University with a BS degree in education. This is noteworthy because Ruth was only able to attend college during the summers. She was an elementary school teacher for 39 years; teaching 16 years at Fairplay and 23 years as a first grade teacher at Ness City Grade School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ness City and Delta Kappa Gamma.
On June 15, 1968 she married Robert Pugh in Ness City. He survives. Other survivors include her brother, Frank Jedlicka and 7 nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her brother Charles Jedlicka and her twin sister Reta Frusher. Memorial services will be Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church, Ness City with Reverend Russell King presiding. Private inurnment in the Ness City Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Gideons.
