Shirley June Hauschild, a beloved wife, mother, and homemaker, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, at the age of 93, at Cedar Village Care Center in Ness City, Kansas. Born on June 6, 1932, in Oakley, Kansas, to Ora and Daisy (Clark) Sowers, Shirley lived a life filled with warmth, devotion, and the joy of nurturing those around her.

On August 13, 1950, Shirley married the love of her life, Virgil Hauschild, and together they built a beautiful life on their farm. A dedicated farm wife and homemaker, Shirley found great joy in baking, filling her home with the comforting aroma of freshly baked goods. She was preceded in death by Virgil, who passed away on December 12, 2011, as well as her parents, sister Maxine, sons-in-law Larry Koon and Eldon Harper, daughter-in-law Ann Hauschild, grandson Ty Koon, and Diane's significant other, Dave Howard.

Shirley is survived by her loving children: Deb Koon of Salina, Gary Hauschild of Dighton, Ronnie Hauschild of Cimarron, Diane Calvin of Ness City, and Carol Harper of Canton. Her legacy continues through her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her warmth and kindness.

Viewing will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Family visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, beginning at 12:30 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Dighton Cemetery in Dighton, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Village, a place that provided Shirley with care and comfort in her final days.
