Sibyl (McFadden) Witthuhn, age 84, passed away on April 22, 2011 at Cedar Village Long Term Care, Ness City, Kansas. She was born on October 19, 1926 on the family farm South of Bazine, the daughter of William Ray and Alma Idolette Bondurant McFadden. She was a helper on the family farm, a homemaker, a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid both of Bazine, she was a 4-H Project Leader and a lifetime resident of the Bazine area. Sibyl loved to sew, knit, crochet and cook for her family. Her handiwork is treasured by many family members. On August 19, 1945 she married Louis H. Witthuhn, Jr. in Bazine. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2009.

She is survived by three sons: Larry and Karen of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Van and Jan of Hays, and Ray and Carol of Ness City; eight grand children and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Harold, Donald and Robert McFadden and a sister Doris Lopata.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 26, 2011, 10:00 A.M. At St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Bazine with Pastor Warren Prochnow presiding. Burial in the Bazine Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 10 am until 9 pm and Monday from 9 am until 9 pm with visitation and Family service starting at 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Luke's Lutheran Church. A graveside memorial service for Jon Strecker, Sibyl's nephew, will immediately follow Sibyl's interment in the Bazine Cemetery.
