Steve Simonson, 72 passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023 peacefully at his home in Ransom, KS. Steve was born on August 31, 1950 in Great Bend, KS to Donald and Beverly (Chaffin) Simonson.

Steve owned the Jayhawk Moving and Storage Company in Great Bend for several years before becoming the owner of "The Hatchery" in Great Bend. He later worked as a carpenter and painter in Great Bend and Pagosa Springs, Colorado. He was a jack of all trades and had a real zest for life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Don Simonson. He is survived by his longtime friend, Joy Madden; his mother, Beverly Chaffin Simonson; children Joshua Simonson and Jessilyn Simonson; sisters, Kim Son of Radium, Debbie Hughes of Las Vegas; brother, Mike Simonson of Las Vegas; and 7 grandchildren.
