Susie Curtis, age 92, passed away at Cedar Village, Ness City on Saturday, January 7, 2012. She was born on January 11, 1919 in Ford, Kansas the daughter of Fred and Betha Long Pelton.
She married George Swatzell in 1940, he died in 1947. In 1957 she married Frank Curtis, he preceded her in death in 1997.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Swatzell (Jerry) Schuler of Ness City, Patty Swatzell (Jerry) Keller of Fort Collins, Colorado, Delores Swatzell Betz of Hooker, Oklahoma; one son, Victor (Linda) Swatzell of Phillipsburg; one sister, Nina (Art) Morrell of Abbyville; seven grandchildren: Cheryl Lunsford, Randy Keller, Kristi Bertrand, April Coker, Aaron Betz, Eric Swatzell, and Bart Swatzell and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Harold, Harvey, John, Andrew, and Alvin: three granddaughters, Monica (Schuler) Seib, Claresa and Melody Betz and one son-in-law, Gary Betz.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, January 10, 2012, 10:00 A.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Burial in the Ness City Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 PM Monday. Memorial contributions may be given to Cedar Village LTC.
