Obituary

Teressa Carol (Nutt) Pfannenstiel, age 55, passed away at her home in Ness City, Kansas on July 31, 2011. She was born on November 13, 1955, to Carlos and Sonya Nutt in Marion, Indiana. She grew up in Murfreesboro, AR and attended Dallas Central Christian College and continued her education at Fort Hays State University graduating with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and later a Masters in Behavior Disorders. Teressa met Mike Pfannenstiel at Hays, and was later united in marriage at the First Christian Church in Murfreesboro, AR on August 13, 1977. They moved to Larned, KS where she taught at the Larned State Hospital. Mike and Teressa later settled in Ness City, KS and raised three children. In Ness City, Teressa taught at Ness City Elementary from 1983-2010. Teressa was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ness City, KS. She was also a member and recent president of Delta Kappa Gamma. Teressa enjoyed being in the classroom, crossword puzzles, going to sporting events, traveling, and The Game Show Network.

Survivors include her husband Mike Pfannenstiel of Ness City; three children, Amanda (Bruce) Buethe of Ness City, Matt (Kelsey) Pfannenstiel of McPherson, Keith (Amanda) Pfannenstiel of Greeley, CO; grandson Noah Pfannenstiel of Greeley, CO; mother Sonya Nutt of Murfreesboro, AR; siblings Sharon (Ronald) Kennedy of Murfreesboro, AR, Carle Gatliff of Murfreesboro, AR and Jon Nutt of Nashville, AR; mother-in-law Claretta Pfannenstiel of Ness City, KS; brother-in-laws Monty (Susan) Pfannenstiel of Ness City, KS, Mark (Sara) Pfannenstiel of Ness City, KS sister-in-laws Marcia (Mike) Pritchett of Hutchinson, KS, Myra (Tom) Lindeman of Wichita; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Preceded in death by father Carlos Nutt and father-in-law Ralph Pfannenstiel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 3, 2011, 9 A.M. Sacred Heart Church, Ness City. Rosary and Parish Vigil will be Tuesday, 6:30 PM at the church. Fiends may call from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. Tuesday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home. Burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Legion Veterans Memorial, Ness City Grade School Library, or Sacred Heart School Library.
