Terrance Russell Gabel, age 85, died on September 8, 2021 at Cedar Village in Ness City, Kansas.  He was born in Ness City on July 11, 1936 the son of Michael and Clair (Meis) Gabel.

Russell attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Ness City High School.  On October 11, 1957, he married Wilma Dea Schaben in Ness City.  Russell and Dea made their home in Colorado where they raised their four children and Russel worked as a tool and die machinist.

Russ is survived by his wife, Dea, of the home; three sons, David of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Daniel and his wife, Tammie, of Denver, Colorado and Terry of Cheyenne, Wyoming; one daughter, Laura Gabel of St. Louis, MO; one sister Mae Marsha Johnston; and 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Gabel and Dustin (Anna) Gabel of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Luke Gabel of Clinton, Illinois, and Elizabeth (Greg) Hermann of Peoria, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Grace, Jonathan, Todd, and Brinkley Gabel.  He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Mike Gabel, and a sister, Erma Ferguson.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.  Memorial contributions may be given to the Sacred Heart School or the Ness City Leisure Years.
