Todd Allen Swanson was born to Larry & Sharon Brasier Swanson joining a brother Larry and later a sister Sharese in Overland Park, Kansas.
The early years were full of sports and week-ends at the lake skiing and fishing.
Following graduation from Shawnee Mission North High School, he obtained a communications degree from Pittsburg State University. After completing a degree in mortuary science, he was hired by Joel Fitzgerald of the Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City, Kansas.
In 2000 he met his soul mate Erin Shauers of Ness City, and they were married on November 22, 2000.
On July 26, 2003, Todd was totally disabled in a car accident. During the past 6 years Todd has received compassionate care from medical personnel at several facilities in Kansas and Nebraska.
Todd leaves many loving family members and friends: wife Erin Shauers; parents Larry and Gail Swanson, and Sharon and Calvin McBride; brothers Larry (Michelle) Swanson, Rod McBride, and Brian (Joy) McBride; sister Sharese (Lonnie) Moser; uncle and aunt Van and Jane Swanson, aunt Marsha Brasier Lehrer; brother-in-law Chris (Dolly Wittman) Shauers; nieces Kaylin Moser, Emily McBride, and Molly McBride; nephews Grant Moser, Cameron Moser, and Jordan Todd Moser, Marshall Swanson, Larssen Swanson, and Forrest Allen Swanson, and Jett Shauers; cousins Shelli (Russ) Brown, Spencer and Bailey; Scott (Jennifer) Swanson and Jet.
Todd was preceded in death by his loving paternal grandmother Victoria Carlson Swanson, paternal grandfather Reverend AW Swanson, maternal grandparents Otis and Louise George Brasier, and maternal uncle Ronald Dean Brasier.
There will be a vigil rosary service at 6:30 pm followed by a vigil service at 7:00 pm on Sunday December 20, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City, Kansas. The funeral will be Monday December 21st at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ness City, Kansas at 11:00 a.m. with interment following at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
