Vada B. Stoecklein, 92, passed away on August 5, 2022 at the Ness County Hospital in Ness City, Kansas.  She was born on June 25, 1930 in Ness County, Kansas the daughter of Edward and Mary (Leiker) Vogel.

Vada was a homemaker. She was a 1948 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Wichita. She worked as a teller at First State Bank for 15 years, drove a school bus, and worked at Rock Island Lumber. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Altar Society. She married Earl J. Stoecklein on August 1st, 1950, in Ness City, Kansas. He survives.

Other survivors include 2 sons, Lester (Jane) Stoecklein of Ness City, Eldon (Mary) Stoecklein of Hays; 4 daughters, Peggy (Alan) Knotts of Ness City, Diane (Bob) Power of Salina, Joyce Roberts of Holly Springs, NC, Nancy (Scott) Pfannenstiel of Ness City; son-in-law, Van Witthuhn of Hays; sister, Jeanette (Steve) Coffman of Lee's Summit, MO; sister-in-law, Carolyn Vogel of Ness City; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Donnie and Dick Vogel; sister, Inez Wasinger; daughter, Janice Witthuhn; and son-in-law, Charles Durfee.

Memorial service will be on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, 10:30 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City, Kansas.  Inurnment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund, Veteran's Memorial Park, Christ Pilot Me Hill, or Donor's Choice.
