Valdah Merle Klitzke, age 80, passed away on April 16, 2014 at her home in the Rhode Island Suites, Ransom, Kansas. She was born on July 26, 1933 in rural Ness County the daughter of Lemuel B. and Pearl A. Kanaga Burditt.

After graduating from Ness City High School in 1953, Valdah attended a Beauty Operator School in Dodge City. When she got her license she opened her own beauty shop and operated it for many years. One of her favorite hobbies was collecting old dolls and restoring them. Valdah was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ness City.

On November 14, 1971 she married Robert Klitzke in Ness City. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2001.

She is survived by a brother, Dwayne Burditt of Grangeville, Idaho. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Earl Burditt and four sisters, Lillian Koester, Vera Pember, Vivian Howard, and Naomi Sutton.

Graveside funeral services and burial will be on Friday, April 18, 2014, 11:00 A.M. at the Ness City Cemetery. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Thursday, April 17 from 1:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M.

Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church.
