Vera Seraphine Pfannenstiel, age 78, passed away at Cedar Village, Ness City on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. She was born on October 27, 1933 in Ness City, Kansas the daughter of John and Anna Mary Haas Wasinger. On August 25, 1952 she married William Pfannenstiel in Ness City, he preceded her in death on November 11, 2005.

She was a lifetime resident of Ness City, a member of Sacred Heart Church, Altar Society and a long time member of the church choir all of Ness City. She attended grade school at Sacred Heart and high school at Ness City High School. Vera took great pride in her sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren.

Vera is survived by three sons: Lyle (Terri) Pfannenstiel, Udall, Eldon (Anita) Pfannenstiel,Hays, and Neil (Jo) Pfannenstiel, Ness City; brother Paul Wasinger, Ness City; three sisters: Rosalinda Gaschler, Pauline Witthuhn, and Joan VanDegrift all of Ness City; 8 grandchildren: William (Mendy) Pfannenstiel, Arkansas City, Chris (Michelle) Pfannenstiel, Pratt, Sarah (Sid) Mohr, Clearwater, Kim (John) Duncan, Dallas, Texas, Paige (Nick) Woolery, Baytown, Texas, Trevor (Amber) Pfannenstiel, Ellsworth, Brodie Pfannenstiel and Kendra Pfannenstiel both of Ness City and 9 great grandchildren:Kyle, Jacob, Tell, Nolan, Lauryn, Emily, Reese, Henry, and Brynlee. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Nick and Wilbur Wasinger, and a sister Dorinda Gaschler.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 11, 2011, 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, Ness City with Fr. Warren Stecklein presiding. Rosary will be Thursday, November 10, 2011 7:00 at the church. Burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday at the church from 5:00 PM until service time and Friday 9:00 AM until service time. Memorial contributions may be given to the Altar Society.
