Verda M. Ochs, 96, passed away on February 4, 2026, at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.  She was born on March 8, 1929, in Arnold, Kansas the daughter of Conrad and Katie (Kraft) Bauer.

Verda was a med aide and nurse aide retiring at the age of 91. She enjoyed baking especially bread, cooking, knitting, crocheting, and drawing.

Survivors include her daughter, Debra Adkins of Dighton; son, Doug Gish of Arnold; grandchildren, Tyler (Marwa) Buser, Lucas (Jessica) Adkins of Salina, Curtis (Emily) Adkins of Sioux Falls, SD; and great-grandchildren, Madalee Adkins, Mason Adkins, Dana Buser.  She was preceded in death by her parents; 8 brothers; 2 sisters; and 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Faydawn Adkins.

The memorial service will be on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, Kansas.  Burial in the Arnold Cemetery, Arnold, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Grisel Memorial Hospital.
