Virginia Lee Rodie's Obituary
Virginia Lee "Ginny" Rodie, age 88, passed away on August 14, 2014 at Cedar Village, Ness City. She was born on January 27, 1926 in Great Bend, Kansas.
On November 30, 1949 she married Richard Rodie in Otis, Kansas. He survives. Virginia and Richard were well known in the community for their delicious hog roast catering service. They provided food for many wedding dances through out the years. They also ran a local cafe in Ness City where Virginia cooked. She was also an avid bowler having competed in numerous local, state, and national tournaments. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ness City.
She is survived by her son, Steven Rathbun of Anaheim, California; two grandchildren, Jason and Wendy; one great-granddaughter and a sister, Ann Rodie of Russell, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth McMullen; brothers, Clifford Perkins, and Eugene Cruse; and a sister, Donna Story.
