Alice Virginia Turley, 98, passed away on December 14, 2020 at the Parklane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas.  She was born on November 16, 1922 in Ness City, Kansas the daughter of Henry and Alice (Petersilie) Reinert.

Virginia was a homemaker. She also worked as a dietitian in the Eldorado Hospital. She owned and operated a motel in Scott City for many years. She married Carl E Turley on September 15, 1947, in Raton, New Mexico. He died on June 24, 1996.

Survivors include her children Linda (Gary) Harkness of Larned, KS, Carol Heims and Kent Strickler of Scott City, KS, Sandi (John) Lewis of Abbyville, KS, Delmar Turley of Scott City, KS, Dale (Shelley) Turley of Scott City, KS, Deb Sherman of Wichita, KS; stepchildren Joan Peltrey of Hobbs, NM, Jerry Turley of Garden City, KS; her sister, Gladys (Fred) Hilmes of Ness City, KS; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl E. Turley, a son, LeRoy and 7 brothers.

Due to COVID, a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Scott Community Foundation or the Scott City Animal Rescue.
