Obituary

Wilbur A. Wasinger, age 80, died Saturday, Oct 16, 2010 in rural Ness County, Kansas. He was born August 24, 1930 in Ness City the son of John F and Anna Mary Haas Wasinger. He was a well known barber and all-around handyman for family and friends. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, American Legion both of Ness City, Ransom VFW, Ness County Historical Society and a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War. On January 28, 1957 he married Kay Eckles in Ness City. She survives. Other survivors include son, Tim and his wife Cindy J, Wichita; daughter Cindy K. Wasinger, Mulvane, KS; brother, Paul Wasinger, Ness City and four sisters: Rosalinda Gaschler, Ness City, Pauline Witthuhn, Bazine, Vera Pfannenstiel, Ness City, and Joan VanDegrift,Ness City. He was preceded in death by a brother, Nick Wasinger and a sister, Dorinda Gaschler. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, October 20, 2010, 11:00 Am at the Sacred Heart Church with Father Warren Stecklein presiding. Rosary and visitation will be Tuesday at the church, 7:00 pm. Burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with military graveside rites by the American Legion Frank Stull Post 152 assisted by the Sons of the American Legion Squadron. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ness County Veterans Memorial and Park.
