William Randel Reese, "Randy", was born April 28, 1954, to Dean and Mary (Howser) Reese of Fowler, Kansas. He spent his childhood on the Reese family farm of Fowler, where he lived with his older sister, Lynette, and younger brothers, Jack and Tim. Growing up on a Reese family farm, he learned the rhythms of farm life, including tending livestock and crops. His childhood was much like any other young boy growing up in the 1950s and 1960s in western Kansas, learning the values of hard work, family, and friends instilled in him by his parents.

He graduated from Fowler High School in 1972. Later, he and many of his friends were a part of the Ft. Dodge Band. Their love for music took them on journeys across the country. He spent time in Hollister, California, and later in Kansas City. In Kansas City, he worked in landscaping and painting with a handful of close friends.

In 1985 he married Anne Reese (Sigmon) also welcoming 2 stepchildren. In 1986, he moved back to Fowler to help on his family farm. There, he spent the remainder of his years as a husband, father, and man committed to serving his community. Shortly after moving back to Fowler, he took a job with the Fowler Equity Exchange, where he worked until his retirement in the summer of 2025.

He was a member of Grace Community Church of Dodge City, Kansas. His love for music continued throughout his life. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman dedicating many years to the Pheasants Forever chapter of Meade County, Kansas.

His retirement was precluded by diagnosis of non-small cell lung carcinoma in February of 2025. In the 18 months to follow, he would deal with the poison of cancer through chemotherapy, radiation, countless doctor's visits, and tests, in what seemed like never-ending battle with the unknown. Through his last year his life focused on spending time with family, friends, and fighting cancer.

In the remaining months of his life, he moved to Ness City, Kansas to be cared for by his family. Randy went to be with his Savior at Cedar Village long-term care in the Ness County Hospital on August 27th, 2026, at 11:30 p.m.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lynette Green, his father, Dean Reese, and mother, Mary Reese. He has survived by his brother Jack Reese, sister-in-law Suzanne (Alexitch) Reese, and brother Tim Reese who reside in Fowler, KS. He is also survived by stepson, Andrew Campfield and daughter-in-law Bethany Campfield of Ness City, Kansas. Stepdaughter, Rachel Darnell and son-in-law Kevin Darnell of Blue Springs, Missouri. Daughter, Emily Gales and son-in-law Josh Gales of Belpre, Kansas. He leaves behind 9 grandchildren; Felicity Ann Campfield, Wichita, KS, Nathan Russell Campfield, Jaxson Randall Campfield, and Madeline Naomi Campfield, Ness City, Kansas. Tristan Darnell and Abigail Darnell of Blue Spring, Missouri. Raylan Gales, Bryer Gales, and Asher Gales, of Belpre, Kansas. Along with his family, he's survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

His services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, at the Grace Community Church of Dodge City, KS. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, at the Fowler Cemetery in Fowler, Kansas.
