William Francis Zeller, age 71, died at his home in McCracken, Kansas on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. He was born on May 7, 1946 in LaCrosse, Kansas the son of Francis and Julia Davenport Zeller.

Bill was a United States Navy Veteran having served aboard the USS Forrestal and the USS Enterprise during the Vietnam War. He worked on off-shore drilling rigs, worked with Sykes for computer technology support, worked at a liquor store, and managed the local rural water district. Bill was a member of the American Legion, McCracken. He attended the United Methodist Church of McCracken and was a member of the United Methodist Church English Hand Bell Choir.

On August 4, 1974 he married Paulette Nicholson in Hays, Kansas. They were blessed with two sons, Daniel and William. The couple divorced. Later, Bill married Cecelia Wheeler and they later divorced.

William is survived by his sons, Daniel Zeller of McCracken and William Zeller and his wife, Jana, of LaCrosse; brother, John Zeller and his wife, Melanie, of McCracken; companion and caregiver, Cecilia Gilbert of McCracken; nieces, Sarah Emerson and her husband, Kiel, of Hay and Rachel Legleiter and her husband, Lance, of Olathe; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Daniel Martin Zeller.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, McCracken on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial in the McCracken Cemetery. Rosary service will be at the church on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Viewing will be at the church starting at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday and on Monday before the service.

Memorial contributions may be given to the McCracken American Legion.
