Wilma Ann Ochs, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on October 23, 2026. She was born on September 2, 1938, on the family farm near Utica, Kansas, to Thomas Fahey Norton and Jaunita Lehman Norton.
Wilma graduated from Utica High School in 1956 and attended Fort Hays State University. On January 22, 1959.
Wilma married Norman Carlton Ochs. Together, they shared nearly 68 years of marriage, building a life and family that took them to communities across the country. Over the years, they lived in small towns and large cities, from Kansas to Texas to Pennsylvania, making homes, friends, and memories along the way.
Wilma was an avid volunteer at the United Methodist churches she attended, generously giving her time and service to each church community. Her faith and willingness to help others were important parts of her life.
She loved to travel, enjoying coast-to-coast adventures in the family RV, often riding in the captain’s chair as they explored the country. She also loved walking, which became a daily ritual and a cherished part of her routine. Family was central to Wilma’s life.
She is survived by her husband, Norman; her two sons, Roger Ochs and his wife, Amy, and Dale Ochs and his wife, Sharon; and her three grandsons, Lyle Ochs, Lars Ochs, and Thomas Ochs.
Wilma will be remembered for her devotion to family, her service to her church, her love of travel, and her appreciation for the simple routines of everyday life. From her beginnings on the family farm in Kansas to the many places she called home, she leaves behind a lasting legacy in the family she cherished, the church communities she served, and the countless memories held by those who knew and loved her.
