Carolyn Jane Vogel, 88, of Ness City, Kansas, passed away January 8, 2026, at Cedar Village Care Center. She was born August 4, 1937, in Halstead, Kansas, to Milton and Hilda (Berger) Beutler.

Carolyn was an elementary school teacher, beginning her career in Arnold, Kansas. After several years at home raising her children, she resumed teaching in 1971 at Ness City Schools, where she taught for 31 years before retiring in 2002. She married Dick Vogel on August 5, 1957, in Ness City; he preceded her in death on July 2, 2014.

Carolyn is survived by her two sons, Blaine (Cindy) Vogel, Wade (Shaunda) Vogel, all of Ness City; six grandchildren, Kevin, Keith, Weston (Morgan), Kabel (Danielle), Dakota, Brayden; seven great-grandchildren, Caidyn, Tracer, Karlee, Ryder, Brogan, McKinley, and Blakeley; and one brother, Boyd (Julie) Beutler, Ness City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A memorial service and inurnment will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ness City. Friends may sign the memorial book Wednesday, January 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Village Long Term Care or the Ness City Public Library.
